Dementia research institute. Creates a state institute that awards grants for dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s research and prevention. It takes effect only if voters approve a constitutional amendment setting up the institute and its fund.
The House voted 121 to 23. This is record vote 462 in the House Journal. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick named it a must-pass priority. Governor Greg Abbott signed it.
